Unfortunately, due to the current lockdown, we have no scheduled classroom-based Personal Licence APLH courses in Birmingham. We have however an online option which meets all the legal requirements to apply for your Personal Licence.

Facts about the APLH course & Personal Licence applications in Birmingham

It is a mandatory part of the Personal Licence application process that the applicant must have a relevant qualification as part of their application. The Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) is such a qualification.

By passing the APLH Personal Licence course you will have both the necessary knowledge to retail alcohol and the relevant qualification to make an application for a personal alcohol licence. Although not every staff member working in a premises that is licensed to sell alcohol will require a Personal Licence, at least one person must have one.

Once you have achieved your BIIAB Level 2 APLH Personal Licence qualification at Birmingham, you must then undergo a Criminal Record check. Once you have passed this stage you can apply for your full Personal Licence.

BY CAR

From M6 South or North-West
Leave the M6 at junction 6 and follow the A38(m). Follow signs to City Centre.  Continue onto Queensway/A38.  Follow onto Great Charles Queensway/A38.  Continue onto Suffolk St Queensway/ring road A4540. Continue on A38 to cross road, turn right A4540/A456 (towards Macdonalds) Follow road to Fiveways roundabout. Take your 2nd exit onto Hagley Rd. Hotel is located 1 mile on your left.

From M40 South
Arrive on the M42 and Travel west towards the M5. Travel north on the M5 leaving at Junction 3 ( see below)

From M5 South-West
Leave the M5 at junction 3 and travel towards Birmingham city Centre along A456(Hagley Rd) for 4 miles. We are on the right hand side just past TGI Fridays.
