Description

By law, organizations with over five employees must have qualified first aiders on the premises. Our
course enables your business to fulfil this legal requirement and your duty of care to employees and
visitors to your premises.

What is covered in Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2?

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider in the workplace.
  • Recognizing and assessing potential hazards.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Dealing with unconscious casualties.
  • Wounds, bleeding, and shock.
  • Fractures, sprains and strains.
  • Choking.
  • Minor injuries and burns.
  • Medical conditions and first aid.
  • Recording and reporting incidents.

The Level 2 first aid course is taught through a combination of theory, practical demonstrations, and
hands-on practice to ensure learners can respond to workplace emergencies effectively.

How long does First Aid Level 2 take?

To achieve a Level 2 First Aid certificate, learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of learning
over the course of a day, excluding breaks.

For those who wish to build on their first aid skills or who work in a high-risk environment, we offer
HABC Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work.

If you have a defibrillator in your workplace, we recommend HABC Level 2 Basic Life Support
Certification and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use.
